Arbor Day

Every year, we are fortunate to celebrate both Tennessee Arbor Day, and National Arbor Day! TN Arbor Day is the first Friday in March (this year on March 1st), and National Arbor Day is the last Friday in April (this year April 26th).

Tennessee Arbor Day

Every spring on Tennessee State Arbor Day UT students gather to plant trees around campus. The past years we’ve done a tree planting along the banks of Second Creek here on campus as a part of the greater riparian restoration project that is taking place there.
This year students volunteered for a tree planting event at Morgan Hall and at Sorority Village. We had over 60 students plant over 120 trees at the two locations.

Read about the 2019 event here.

National Arbor Day

This year, National Arbor Day will be held on Friday, April 26th. We will be celebrating with a ceremony to honor our Bee Campus status, and there will be a pollinator planting event as well.

We will be planting outside Fred Brown Hall.
