April showers bring May flowers, and May brings final exams. More than simply marking the end of classes (Friday, April 27th!), April also is Earth Month!
Dating back to 1970, both Earth Month and Earth Day (this year falling on Sunday, April 22nd) have become times on which we focus our energies on our environment and the things that we can do to make it better.
Here at UT Knoxville, we take our Earth Months seriously – filling the days and weeks with events, activities, and programs all promoting the work we do year-round to Make Orange Green. Take a look at some of the events you can take part in here on campus and in the greater Knoxville community.

In collaboration with Career Services, the annual Sustainability Career Mingle.will occur on April 4th. This is a great chance for students to meet with organizations and employers to hear about their job, internship, and volunteer opportunities.
During this facilitated networking event, students are matched with several organizations. Students rotate through the tables in a group with other peers, giving them a chance to learn about career paths, volunteering, internships, and job opportunities, and emerging trends in the field directly from employers!
The first part of the event is designed to be semi-structured speed networking, and they second part allows you to mingle freely with the organizations and follow up with any that you may not have spoken to or are interested in continuing your conversation with.
