March Sustainability Champion: Dylan Vines

Dylan Vines was voted by the Committee on the Campus Environment as the March Sustainability Champion. This monthly award recognizes a UT faculty, staff or student who exemplifies what it means to “Make Orange Green”.

Dylan is a recent graduate from UT where he studied Sustainability. In his time at UT he was a student worker for UT Recycling, where he has continued to work post-graduation.

Dylan has been extremely helpful with the My Tiny Trash efforts, always staying positive despite the hard work required to install it campus-wide. He has helped to install My Tiny Trash in over 1000 offices, and has taken on a role as a team leader helping volunteers and new employees learn how to implement it. He truly believes in the success of the program and is excited to see the positive environmental benefits My Tiny Trash will bring to campus.

“His enthusiasm about the project is great, and he really loves interacting with people and teaching them about the program. Dylan is a great asset to the UT Recycling team and everyday he goes above and beyond to support our efforts. He and his band graciously played at the Drop-Off Fest at the last minute for free. Dylan always has a smiling, friendly face and is ready to be a helping hand. Even at work he is ready to get the job done, and he is a positive force at UT Recycling.”
