Friends of Switchie Program
The FRIENDS OF SWITCHIE program was launched in spring 2009 by Make Orange Green and the Committee on the Campus Environment as a means to encourage UT Knoxville faculty and staff to serve as evironmental leaders in their workplace.
Program participants ("Friends of Switchie") support the Switch Your Thinking energy conservation campaign by volunteering to turn off lights, copy machines, window AC units, and other office electronics at the end of each day.
Faculty and staff that participate in the Friends of Switchie program can take pride in the fact that they are helping to conserve resources and reduce the environmental footprint of their office.
Participants will receive a decal to place on the window of their front office. These "Friends of Switchie" will also be among the first to be informed about progress being made towards reducing campus energy consumption.
