Cool Off With Some Sweet Treats

Summer is officially upon us, which means it’s hot and it’s only going to get hotter.  Growing up in the south, I figured that one day I would eventually learn to embrace the hot and humid weather.  Unfortunately, 21 years later and my hair remains as frizzy as ever from the humidity, and I still let out an exasperated sigh after I realized I left my car parked in the sun all day.  Luckily, one of my favorite parts of summer is cooling off with a delicious ice cream cone.  I’m sure I’m not alone on this either.

If you’re looking for a delightful, cold treat to cool off this summer, I definitely recommend checking out Cruze Farm. Cruze Farm is a family dairy farm in Knoxville.  They milk Jersey cows and bottle their own whole pasteurized Jersey milk.  With that milk, Cruze Farm makes ice cream consisting of only five ingredients: cream, milk, eggs, sugar, and salt.  And did I mention that it’s made fresh? Are you sick of boring ice cream flavors like vanilla and chocolate? Cruze Farm offers refreshing summer flavors like buttermilk lemon, mango, green tea, caramel, and strawberry.  They even offer a strawberry sorbet, which happens to be lactose free for all my lactose intolerant ice cream lovers out there.  Honestly, as I’m typing this up, my mouth is watering.  Cruze Farm sets up shop every Saturday at the Market Square Farmer’s Market from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.  For more information about them and there delicious goodies (they’ve got a lot more to offer besides ice cream) like their Facebook page!

If you’re looking for other tasty cold treats, I recommend checking out Coolato Gelato orRita’s Italian Ice.   Try and keep cool Knoxville.  Don’t forget to wear sunscreen, drink plenty of water, and if possible, park your car in the shade!
